Triumph Hotels offers complimentary Streetwise New York Tours to guests of its six hotels in Manhattan. Each tour highlights one unique neighborhood of a different hotel of the Triumph Collection. Below is the winter schedule (January-March). In April, we will resume the regular schedule which also includes tours leaving from the Edison, Belleclaire and Evelyn Hotels.
Grand Central, NY Public Library and Architectural Highlights
This tour focuses on architectural gems of the Beaux Art movement. We begin on 44th Street where the the century old Iroquois New York, New York Yacht Club and other private clubs still stand today and then visit the iconic Grand Central Terminal, NY Public Library, Bryant Park and the Chrysler Building to show guests the grandeur of the neighborhood and share the stories and eccentricities of these landmarks. In addition to the architectural and cultural history of the neighborhood, the tour will offer suggestions for tour-goers to do on their own.
This tour meets at 10:30am in the lobby of the Iroquois Hotel 49 West 44th St. (between 5th Ave and 6th Ave)
Hell's Kitchen and Times Square
Hell’s Kitchen often gets lost in the shadows of Times Square’s bright lights but is one of New Yorkers’ favorite neighborhoods. This tour gives an insider view of the Hell’s Kitchen hidden from tourists on tenement-lined streets. Tour-goers will discover how the area broke away from its seedy past before visiting the theater district home to some of New York’s most storied theaters. At the end, tour-goers will be able to further enjoy a major tourist area but like a New Yorker.
This tour meets at 9:30am in the lobby of the Washington Jefferson Hotel 318 West 51th Street (between 8th Ave and 9th Ave)
TriBeCa and World Trade Center
TriBeCa is at once one of New York’s oldest neighborhoods and a fashionable district. There is no better place to start this tour than at the Frederick Hotel. The hotel’s building dates back to the 1840's making it possibly New York's oldest hotel structure. It is now a modern boutique hotel. The tour visits the historic and hip blocks of TriBeCa before visiting the new World Trade Center and the Financial District. We pull back layers of history and check out new architectural marvels and art.
This tour meets at 9:30am in the lobby of the Frederick Hotel 95 West Broadway (at Chamber Street)
